Fares The Sacrificing Hero

Fares Muhammad Ali (right), a young volunteer rescue worker with Syria Civil Defence, was wounded while he was rescuing people who had been injured by aerial bombardment in the town of Hreitan.

Fares and his colleagues headed straight to the area after the shelling. As soon as they got there, warplanes launched another attack on the same site. Fares sustained serious wounds, one of the tendons in his hand was severed and his head is injured as well.

Fares joined Syria Civil Defence’ Hreitan division in May 2013 and was promoted shortly after to Head of the Firefighters.

Fares is just one of these heroes sacrificing everything for the safety of their people. Donate to help with the medical treatment of injured Syrian Civil Defenders
